Hello readers! I want to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about why I am writing this blog. I am a married mother of three who was raised in the south in a very traditional and loving Christian family. I have a degree in elementary education which I put to good use for many years as a teacher in both public and private schools. I enjoy walking, reading, tennis, and music. I am a believer but I am not perfect by any means. I am a sinner saved by grace who messes up time and time again as I try to walk this walk of faith. So don’t look for perfection here!
I began writing this blog as I approached 50 years of age and found myself reflecting on my life; the amazing highs, the desperate lows, and the many average ordinary days in-between. I marveled at how God’s hand had been there to guide, encourage, teach and even discipline me, just when I needed it. The result? I am not the same person that I was 25 years ago. I have changed and grown and learned so much about parenting, marriage, divorce, spirituality, church life, being a caring daughter, and most importantly, about my purpose and identity in Christ. Therefore, I feel a responsibility…an urging, to share that knowledge with those traveling the road of sisterhood behind me.
I may not have all the answers but, I know the one who does, and where you can find answers and hope for your life. I would like to connect with fellow travelers…women young and old who need encouragement and guidance on the topics mentioned above and more. My blog is for women in all stages of life… those who are in the trenches of motherhood with toddlers underfoot and those who are facing an empty nest–staring into the face of the stranger who was their husband. I write mainly for women but, many of my posts may be of interest to men, as well.
I want my readers to have a sense that they are not alone, that others have faced the same struggles and survived, that life is meant to be lived with joy and purpose, and that there is hope in Jesus Christ.
Enjoy my blog, comment, and share if you know someone else who may be encouraged by my posts.
We have a lot in common. I hear your heart as I read through your posts. A clear mission with strong conviction–rock on! Would love to journey together.
