Being There (In honor of the best Daddy I know)

B024

He’s been there for the basketball, football, volleyball and softball games. The soccer and tennis matches. The band concerts, recitals, and awards nights.

For years

Always encouraging. Always supporting. Always applauding.

Always there.

He’s been there for dinner and bedtime…every night. Sometimes tired, discouraged–anxious about what tomorrow may hold–but always there.

Solid, faithful, unwavering.

He’s taken us to church, read to us from the Word, prayed with us, cried with us, guided us, held us up.

A picture of constancy and steady support.

Heading to work every day–in constricting ties and hard, shiny dress shoes–day after day, year after year, without complaint. Providing for us a home in which to live, clothes for us to wear, and a never-ending supply of food in our pantry.

Hard-working, responsible, reliable.

This man, this father, this husband, this gift from God.

He is the best daddy I know.

About Heart of the Matter

I am a southern wife and mom who loves reading, music, studying the Bible, and playing a game of tennis now and then. I also enjoy spending time at the beach and have amassed quite a seashell collection. I love all things southern: sweet tea, magnolia trees, comfort food and entertaining. I live in awe of what my Savior has done for me and desire to share spiritual encouragement with others.
